Overview
Hyaluronic acid (HLA) injections help reduce joint pain and stiffness by improving lubrication and shock absorption inside the joint—most commonly for knee osteoarthritis. Using real-time ultrasound, we place the injection precisely where it’s needed for comfort and effectiveness.
Benefits
Patients often notice easier movement and less pain during daily activities. In suitable cases, symptom relief can last six to nine months, supporting rehabilitation and activity goals while you build strength and confidence.
How we deliver care
A senior HCPC-registered, CSP-member physiotherapist will assess your symptoms, confirm suitability and perform the procedure under ultrasound guidance. We explain risks and after-care in plain language and integrate the injection with a practical rehab plan.
Helps with
Knee osteoarthritis and selected degenerative joint pain where improved lubrication can support movement and reduce discomfort.
Safety & Suitability
We will screen for factors such as clotting/bleeding disorders, allergies to HLA products, or infection in/around the injection site. Short-lived soreness or swelling can occur for 24–48 hours; you’ll be advised to avoid strenuous activity for a few days.
